Helloπ folks, Shubham here.
I am back with another edition of Random Musings.
The School Reunion
I still canβt believe we pulled off a successful reunion.
The words canβt do justice to how wonderful it was, yet I will give it a try.Β Β
Close to 30 people showed up, a few of them came from other cities, especially for the reunion.Β
I assumed it might be a bit uncomfortable since we havenβt met for a while, but it wasnβt awkward at all.
Thatβs the fun with school friends. Youβve seen each other literally grow, so it just connects instantly.
Everyone got along well like itβs a weekly meet (or maybe it was the booze).Β
I spoke to people with whom I havenβt had eye contact in school, in fact, there were a few I didnβt know were in my school.Β
My cousin and I studied in the same batch for 12 years. At the party, I discovered there were several people who did not know that we were/are cousins.
This highlights the kind of impact we had in school (Way to go, brother!).Β
Anyways, it was enamoring to see people talking with each other, discussing old school memories. Nostalgia turned into a friend from a foe.
Frankly, it felt like we were transported 10-12 years back in time.Β
We sang, danced, drank(coke, in my case).
Numerous photos were taken in an attempt to capture every moment.Β Β
There was an ineffable positive spirit all around. Each one of us was trying to siphon every last bit of the available enthusiasm because it was once in a while kind of night.Β
I felt people were trying to make up for those 8 years in which life started governing us and our friendships took a backseat.
Nobody wanted the night to end except the bartenders, who were exhausted by the end because of our incessant orders (I mean 30 people, what do you expect?).
The nightβs hangover will last for a while :)
Goodbye Twitter

I went on a vacation recently due to which I wasnβt much active on my social media accounts.
There was an imperceptible pressure because if you donβt post daily, the algorithm compromises your reach.Β
However, not using Twitter didnβt feel odd. Instead, it was liberating.
No pressure to post a witty tweet daily or consuming tons of info.Β
Therefore, I have deleted my Twitter account.Β
The reason I was on Twitter is that most writers I admire are on the platform.Β
Several articles suggest Twitter is still the best place to grow organically.Β
The diversity of content is amazing. Plus, it isnβt as intimidating as Instagram.Β
I agree with the above points. However, I donβt have the capacity to manage another account.Β
Till now I have been sharing one-liners from my published articles on Twitter and it feels like cheating.Β
Working on fresh pieces gives a real kick. And thatβs what I want to focus on.Β
Writing on LinkedIn and publishing Soul Letter is enough for me as of now.
Twitter journey has been great, met a few amazing souls.
I hope we stay in touch on LinkedIn.
The Goa Trip
The vacation mentioned above was the Goa trip with my college friends.Β
Funny enough, the last time we met was in Goa exactly one year ago.Β
FYI, this was our gangβs fourth Goa trip.Β
We follow the exact same itinerary in each outing.Β
Same hotel, same beaches, same pubs, same landmarks.
Sounds lame, right? We know.Β
To tell the truth, this was the chief talking point throughout the tour.Β
For our next vacation, we are going anywhere except Goa.
But on this trip we finally achieved the goal people go to Goa for. Something which hasnβt happened in the previous ones.Β The idea often iterated in movies and TV series.Β
I think you must have guessed it by now.Β
Playing frisbee π₯ in the swimming pool.Β
Yup, that was the best part of the trip.Β
Reunion and Goa, you guys might feel I live a lit life but thatβs not the case.
Itβs usually quite monotonous.
Happy Holi to all our readers. Hope you enjoyed this edition.
Signing off for today :) Until next time, Houdoe! πββοΈ
