Helloπ folks, Shubham here.
I am back with another edition of Random Musings.
Let it BEE π
You guys remember last week my laptop crashed due to which I couldnβt publish the newsletter. Adding to that I lost tons of data.Β
Like any normal person, I was devastated.Β
While returning from the repair shop I booked an auto.
The auto driver was buzzing with energy in contrast to my sulkiness. He was humming the songs on the radio, making funny remarks while overtaking strangers, babbling his quirky stories.Β
I couldnβt figure out why was he so cheerful?Β
We were riding right around noon with the sun's wrath at its peak. A couple of cars inappropriately overtook us which was enough to infuriate anyone. A bike hit us from behind and still, our guyβs positivity remained untouched.Β
Interestingly when I boarded the auto a honey-bee tagged along with us.Β
Seeing I wasnβt reciprocating his vibe the driver shifted his attention to the bee.
He kept saying things like, βma'am I already have a customer, would you make your payment through honey? you could fly instead of using auto.β
Coincidentally the bee flew away exactly at my destination.
The driver jokingly said that I ought to pay for her.Β
His exuberance brought a smile to my face.Β
There were numerous instances during our ride when the auto driver could have turned sulky like me, yet he chose otherwise.Β
Humor makes everything easy.Β
Yes, my laptop crashed but at times in life, we canβt do much.Β
Accept your fate, keep smiling, and let it bee.
Distance MBA, are you insane?
If you speak to any sensible person out there, they will tell you how offline programs are way better than correspondence courses.Β
Face-to-face learning is where real growth happens. You meet tons of new people and experience hardships that push you. Then there is outside world exposure which one simply canβt have while studying at home.Β
All the students have been praying for months for their colleges to open. They know what they are missing in these pandemic-induced online classes.Β
Anyway, moving on.Β
We have a printing shop for which I made an Instagram account recently.Β
On the platform, I have been talking to several home bakers and sellers, most of whom are females.Β
There is this girl who has been selling stuff on IG for a year now. By a look at her profile, you will assume she is a seasoned professional.Β
However, she has just completed her under graduation.Β
On inquiring about her plans for higher studies, she said she might opt for a correspondence MBA.Β
Her answer baffled me. The counselor inside me was about to school her when she confessed her family wonβt permit her to move to another town.Β
It took me a few seconds to register her response.Β
We are in 2022, talking about stuff like metaverse and sending people to Mars.
Most of my friends are pursuing their masters abroad while here we have someone who isnβt allowed to move to another town despite her admirable capabilities.Β
Makes your blood boil, doesnβt it?
Just a reminder to be grateful if you have a progressive and open-minded family.
Hiding in the Plain Sight
Β I voted for the first time last month. A proud moment :)
You must know the officials put a temporary ink mark on the index finger to avoid people from voting again.
In the last couple of weeks, my ink mark has displaced considerably which amuses me.
The shift signifies my nail is growing.Β
In my lifespan of 25 years, this is the first time I have observed it.Β
I know itβs such a mundane thing yet thatβs what delights me.
Cutting nails is tangible proof of growing nails but itβs like second nature. I have been doing it since childhood and it happens in autopilot mode.Β
The realization got me thinking there are several aspects of life where we are silently growing like a nail. Just because there isnβt a marker we fail to acknowledge them.
Try to find these hidden evolutions.
Nowadays whenever I feel stuck, I look at my index finger as a reminder I am growing.
Hope you enjoyed this edition.
Signing off for today :) Until next time, Houdoe! πββοΈ
