Hello๐ folks, Shubham here.
I am back with another edition of Random Musings.
Lifeโs Surreal Manย
This week I celebrated my 26th birthday with people I wasnโt in contact with until last year.ย
I mean most of them were my school pals but we lost touch after school.ย
Moving back to my hometown during the pandemic has reignited several of those dormant connections. Plus there have been notable additions too.ย ย
The only word that describes my feeling is GRATITUDE (loads and loads of it).
Like many others, after moving to a different city for studying Engineering I accepted the despairing fate of my school friendships.ย
You got N new things to fiddle around, school friends gradually drop down the priority list.ย
College made me rich in friends. However, a part of me always craved those school companions.
Thereโs an innocence behind school friends.ย
You befriended someone just because they sat next to you on day 1, shared their lunch, or had the same pencil box as you.
Basically, they were your homies when looks, money, status didnโt mean a thing.
School friends were made without logic unlike college ones, thatโs what makes them special.ย
As said before, a few months ago I didnโt have their contact numbers and now my phone keeps buzzing with their messages.ย
Lifeโs Surreal Man. Itโs a privilege that I am re-connected to people who once meant the world to me.ย
Bookshelf ๐
My reading time has gone down considerably.
Earlier I used to read for 30-45 minutes before going to bed but nowadays reading has become a distant luxury. I get so exhausted by the end of the day that 10-15 minutes is the max before the yawns kick in.
I completed ย Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb.
A nice fun read.
If you are someone who loves to read about psychology, this is a must-read.
Lori is a professional psychotherapist who has used years of her experience to bring forward the different issues people endure.
I came across several human behaviors I didn't know existed.
Her writing style is quirky and funny which makes it an easy recommendation.
Adding to that, the fact that being a psychotherapist she herself required therapy is quite intriguing.ย
Do You Use Your Phone While Driving?
I know people have normalized using their phones while driving.
Making calls, using navigation, checking feeds, and shuffling songs are innate part of driving nowadays.
Similarly, drinking and driving is considered a standard activity. You are cool if you made it home after drinking like a fish.
I urge you to watch the above video.
Itโs 3 minutes long and leave you with a better perspective.
Thereโs a reason driving rules were made.
Risking your own life might be your call however playing with the lives of others isnโt fair.
Please do watch it.
Hope you enjoyed this edition.
Signing off for today :) Until next time, Houdoe! ๐โโ๏ธ
