Hello๐ folks, Shubham here.
I am back with another edition of Random Musings.
The Entangled Charger๐

A funny incident happened to me this week.
So I was using my laptop and the battery was about to die. I connected the laptop with the charger(smart move ๐) however the wire was horribly tangled. There were several knots due to which the effective length of the charger decreased. It could barely make it to the charging port.
I knew if I untangle the charger, it would have easily reached the laptop yet I didnโt.
Why?
Probably laziness.
Yes! there was a slight inconvenience (I had to sit almost on the edge of the table), however, the laptop was charging. Problem solved ๐
Eventually the inevitable happened, the laptop fell due to the tension on the charging wire.
Knowing my luck I could sense something like that was on the cards. Frankly, somewhere in my mind, I knew it will fall, but then again laziness ๐ช
The point is we all are like that entangled charger. We try to do the bare minimum to survive maybe because of laziness or procrastination.
If we undo the knots which may be indecisiveness, indecisions, fear, self-distrust, insecurities, and so on, we will fare much better in life.
All of us have the potential to accomplish our wildest dreams, we just need to increase our effective length.
I know dealing with the knots is a tedious task but itโs much better than living a life in continual vertigo.
Bookshelf ๐
I recently read Before the Coffee Gets Cold written by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.
The reason I picked it was because of its intriguing synopsis.
In a small back alley in Tokyo, there is a cafรฉ that has been serving carefully brewed coffee for more than one hundred years. But this coffee shop offers its customers a unique experience: the chance to travel back in time.
One can go back in time by drinking a cup of coffee. Isnโt it cool?
But wait!
To perform a successful journey one needs to follow several rules. Customers must sit in a particular seat, they cannot leave the cafรฉ, and, they must return to the present before the coffee gets cold, and a few more.
Itโs a simple-sweet book. Although I am a little disappointed๐ as the expectations were huge based on the initial summary. Still, there are several heart-touching ๐ญ stories.
In the book, thereโs a waitress named Kazu Tokita. She is the cousin of the cafรฉ owner who pours the special coffee required for time travel.
The thing to admire about Kazu is her aloof attitude. She never judges any customer making the time travel journey because she believes everyone has got reasons.
Water flows from high places to low places. That is the nature of gravity. Emotions also seem to act according to gravity. When in the presence of someone with whom you have a bond, and to whom you have entrusted your feelings, it is hard to lie and get away with it. The truth just wants to come flowing out. This is especially the case when you are trying to hide your sadness or vulnerability. It is much easier to conceal sadness from a stranger, or from someone you donโt trust.
-Before the Coffee Gets Cold
If anyone wants to inculcate a reading habit or is looking to erase their reading slump, this might be an ideal book.
For other bibliophiles, I will suggest picking it up only if you are looking for lightweight fiction.
The Hidden Truth Behind Display๐ท Pics

A while back a famous LinkedIn influencer wrote a beautiful post about display pics. I am sorry I lost the link to the original post but I will try to articulate the basic crux or whatever I remember.
He highlighted the contrast between the profile pictures we use on our public accounts like LinkedIn or Twitter in comparison to other intimate social media platforms like WhatsApp.
The majority of us have a professional-looking headshot on LinkedIn which one rarely uses on WhatsApp.
The point he made was that the profile photos used on these personal accounts actually reveal what truly matters to us.
Take a minute and stalk the profiles of your loved ones.
You will notice people having display pics with their parents, partners, siblings, friends, newborns, kids, pets, etc.
To add to that there will be few with photos showcasing their passions or places they visited.
Itโs such a subtle yet pleasing observation, right?
These photos signify what people genuinely care about.
Hope you enjoyed this edition.
Signing off for today :) Until next time, Houdoe! ๐โโ๏ธ
