Hi 👋, Shubham here.
I know today isn’t Saturday, but I was itching to write this.
Seems like the pilot run was a success, special thanks ♥ to all the volunteers.
I got some wonderful reviews (and minor criticism from a couple of ex-friends🙄).
Here are a few of the feedbacks of the test run:
I loved your first newsletter!
A fun way to start my weekend.
Now weekends are going to give a lot of positive vibes.
All the very best to you for your new beginning !! You had a great start !!!
Eagerly waiting for the next one.
Quick Update
The subscriber count has shot up from 16 to 35, which is freaking awesome, while my Twitter followers decreased from 7 to 6. 😶
To all the new subscribers, welcome to the tribe✌
To highlight the diversity of the Soul Letter community, we have people from age 18-40, across professions ranging from software engineer to fitness trainer, living in India & US.
Pretty amazing, Right!
We need to talk about Mirabai Chanu
Kudos to Mirabai Chanu for opening India’s medal quota in Tokyo Olympics by winning silver in the women's 49kg category.
But do you know what occurred in 2016, Rio Olympics? 🤔
In the 2016 games, she couldn’t even manage a single legitimate lift 😲, due to which she was marked as did not finish.
Assume how embarrassing the experience must have been.
Representing your nation on the biggest platform, and you didn’t even finish the event.
Have you ever bombed a presentation in college or office?
I have, and I felt shattered afterward.
One can only imagine how Mirabai might have felt after relentless criticism and humiliation.
To her, winning silver at Tokyo Olympics means a lot more than a medal.
Add What to your Why
Recently, I read an eye-opening🙄 article by Aaron Nichols.
We are obsessed with asking why, but that solves only half of the problem. We also need to add a what to it.
For Example:
Let’s assume I am 20 years old boy with a shitty attitude because my parents mistreated me in childhood.
I will ask myself, Why am I shitty?
The answer will be because my parents abused me.
The End!
But if I further ask, What shall I do to stop being shitty?
That’s where the growth happens.
Add what to your why🙂
A Thing About Shortcuts
Shortcuts are perceived as something negative since people usually use them to gain quick success.
However, I had a surreal realization while learning image editing on Youtube.
The instructor used lots of shortcuts throughout the video. At times I had to pause the video to do the same.
You see, shortcuts aren’t bad. Once you master a skill, they help you to get the job done quicker.
It’s unethical only when you try to use them for immediate results without learning the actual skill.

Meme Time 😅
