Hey guys, a welcome change nowadays is the onset of monsoon.
My place witnessed soaring temperatures of over 40 degrees celsius constantly for the last few months (I guess it is probably a consequence of climate change).
However, the soothing rains have tamed the temperatures, as of now.
Yesterday when I was about to leave the GYM there was a sudden downpour.
Instead of being delighted, I was irritated because I had to immediately secure my mobile, wallet, and other valuables.
It took me a moment to realize how my perception of rain has changed over time.
As a kid the rules were simple. If it rained you danced and bounced around in it, embracing the natural showers.
There was an undeclared competition for who would be the first one to get wet.
Having a cool raincoat was a big thing back then (remember that synthetic smell?).
But now the adult me has a more rational approach.
Rain means more traffic, sewer congestion, surged cab fares, and disruption of daily working.
With the increase in pollution, there are higher chances of acid rains therefore it is better to avoid them.
And finally protecting your digital soulmate– your smartphone is a must.
I don’t remember the last time I hip-hopped in the rain.
A bit sad isn't it :(
Like rain, there must be multiple other things in life that lost their fun element as we grew up.
Let’s try to rekindle them.
I vow to soak in at least one rain shower this season.
